Parent tunes
the first part roughly follows the contour of the Londonderry Air, I reckon, but most of all it reminds me of a reel or hornpipe (from Quebec?) I vaguely remember hearing on a tape decades ago; its second part was nothing like the one here but it kind of 'darkened' into the myxolian mode (in the same key), something like:
