Trip to Ballyshannon

Written by Alasdair Fraser, an Irish tune by a Scotsman, it rolls along nicely. There are many obvious spots for cuts between the repeated notes, but it also sounds good when played plainly .

Hm, yet it still sounds Scottish. It's a Scottish tune with an Irish name, is what it is.

You're right rad it does sound pretty scottish with those chordal structures it has. that fourth in there really makes it sound pretty scotish. Oh well, its still an ok tune and it doesn't try to lie too much.

No, indeed, not a bad tune at all. I didn't mean to sound demeaning - there are plenty of great Scottish reels. Besides, wasn't it the Scots that invented the reel?

I don't think it sounds particularly Scottish at all.

This tune is brilliant.

NOT INVERCASSLEY FALLS!

If you listen to the rrack from the beginning, you should be able to distinguish that "Trip to Ballyshannon" is the second of 2 tunes in the set- not one tune w/ 2 names. I WOULD like to find "Invercassley Fall"s though.

Not sure why this tune is shown under both names from the CD track. Invercassley Falls is a completely different tune, written by Paul Machlis.
