I transcribed this from The House Band recording on "October Song".
I hesitated to put this one in the DB because it's a wacky little French or French Canadian tune with an odd structure.
The wackiness is that it violates the usual tune structure of having equal A and B parts by having a 4-bar A part and a 5-bar B part, both repeated.
But it sounds great, so take a listen.
Do you see it? Do you see the craziness?

Maybe I'm just not into the French Canadian stuff enough to appreciate, but I'm afraid this just doesn't do it for me.
Does this name mean 'undressed'; like a tune for a stripper:}☺

Although I don't know much French-Canadian music, does having an extra bar in the B-section really make this tune crazy and wacky? Having said that, I hesitate in criticising it too much: if you can point me towards a source in which I might hear how this tune is played in Canada, then I might get a better understanding of how it works.

i think the Dérobée is from Brittany (Though i've heard it could come from Italy as it is very similar to the Tarentella)..The most famous is the Dérobée de Gingamp:

Intersting link, Paul. Unfortunately all I found there was alien heiroglyphics. I used my magic decoder ring and best I can tell it's directions for probing rural humans.... Maybe if you play derobee, the aliens come (like in Close Encounter of the Third Kind) and your clothes fall off?
