This is a link back to Jocklet's contribution. These two tunes have something in common, as is shared by several 'Tarantella' I've heard, the second part in the one above and the first part in the following:

I'm not sure where I got this one, possibly touring in France, or having danced it. I've learned about half a dozen Tarantella from varions areas over a long stretch, Italian mazurkas too... I'm sure it has changed in my hands and as transcribed.

Oh I like!

Screw-up, the that final 'B' should read '=B', and the ABCs are not updated for that.

What is wrong with my eyes and head and ears - the ABCs are 'NOW' updated (the 'not' was another screw-up)... You'll find the missed 2nd ending, lost in the cut and paste, in the ABCs.

Man, I need to find more Italian type tunes that you speak of, Ceolachan! Where do you find them? And thanks for the emails =P
Cheers,
Armand

Here's one I ran across awhile back - for 'FiddlinViolinin' & other mad folk:
Diatonica - Christoph Zeiler

Someone should tell him about the Irish side of things...

Tarentella
Tarentellas come from SAicily or Southern Italy. Gow has a home-brewed Scotish version from the late 1700s which is calledthe Tarantulla.Itsa Gm tarantella and enormousfun. Angelsof the North use it with Cut the File, a strange Northumbrian jig from the same era that is on Kathryn Tickell'sfirst album..
