Skipper Lost His Guernsey
Here's a classic Newfoundland jig.
I first heard it played how I submitted it here, but I have also heard the A part and the B part reversed. So the second part would be played first.

Skipper Lost His Guernsey
A "Guernsey" is a thick, oiled sweater of dark blue wool. In Ireland a common name for a sweater used to be "Ganzi" (not sure of the spelling, but that`s what it sounded like!)

Skipper lost his Guernsey
I live in Guernsey, where the Guernsey sweaters are common and supposed to have originated from here. Traditionally worn by the fishermen. Interested to know that the common name for a sweater in Ireland used to be "Ganzi"! The Guernsey Guernseys are very traditional, down to certain designs on the sweater indicating which area of the island you come from.
