The Three Note

I referred to this tune today in a post on the thread
http://www.thesession.org/discussions/display.php/4579 (What is a "beginner's" tune?).
It comes from Paul McNevin's tutor book "The Irish Fiddle" and must be one of the technically easiest jigs in existence. Paul McNiven says this makes it easier [for the beginner] to concentrate on the rhythm of the tune.

"A Complete Guide to Learning the Irish Fiddle" by Paul McNevin

page 23 ~ "The Three Note Jig"

My suspicions are that Paul Nevin may have put this one together himself as a teaching piece, by the title if nothing else, but I've not been able to find any specific attribution for this short melody.
