The One Night Fling

I've been writing this for about 8 or 9 years and it's finally finished - Hurrah! It started out as a daggy little single jig with a different name. Then at some point it turned into a single reel, and then later into a fling. Once it became a fling the name had to change of course :-)

I chose to post it in the reel section rather than as a hornpipe because I think that if you played it fast and straightened out the rhythm a bit, it would pass as a single reel.

There is one light-heavy pair of quavers in the A-part which is like a sort of Scotch snap. All other pairs are heavy-light by default.

Thanks to ceolachan for explaining about flings and schottisches etc on a recent thread. I hope I've finally sorted the distinctions out otherwise I'll have to change the name and I don't want to do that!

Yeah, nice single reel too... I was just going to say 'sweet', but was afraid the tigers in this night might make something of it... ;-P

I'm hoping you don't have too many of these...

Hey 'c', don't go jumping to conclusions - it's just a name :-D

Does nobody else see the irony in the fact it took Mark *eight or nine years* to finish a one night fling?

Now that I think about it - That's impressive! Ladies must be lining up at your door!

Hahahaha!

First a jig, then a reel, then a fling - there's one of those metaphors on the ages or man in there somewhere...
