This shares strong similarities with another Cape Breton jig, The Champion: http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display.php/137

Yeah, curious, the 'A' part of this one and the 'B' part of 'The Champion'. I'm curious where they both originate from, who's playing. Now for a little source searching. I like these kind of cross fertilization, and even 'the chicken or the egg' side of it. I've actually played both tunes, but not together, and I hadn't made the connection back then, less analytical in my 'youth' I guess... I'll return with what ever I find, if I do find anything.

Thanks for adding the link...

What's even curioser is that both tunes were played by that excellent Cape Breton dance fiddler Winston 'Scotty' Fitzgerald...

They are close enough to let Jeremy know. He can decide whether or not to 'consolidate'...

I hope he keeps them as separate posts.
