I transcribed this out a la new O'Neill's style writing out the short & long rolls. So it may be busy to the eye but all in all it's a pretty straight forward tune that sounds nice but not too flashy either.

This is generally known as Martin Wynne's No. 1. Philippe Varlet says it was composed about 1935.

Martin Wynne's

Here's a simpler setting of the tune I learned from a fiddler last summer:

K: Dmaj
AF~F2 GE~E2|F2AF EFDB,|A,B,DE ~F3B|ABde fedB|
AF~F2 GE~E2|F2AF EFDB,|A,B,DE ~F3B|1 ABde fddB:|2 ABde fdd2||
f2af gfeg|fedf edBc|dBAF DEFB|ABde fe~e2|
f2af gfeg|fedf edBc|dBAF D3B|1 ABde fdd2:|2 ABde fddB|

I think this is a very clever composition, though not best for flute or whistle.
