This Quebecois tune was written by fiddler Lisa Ornstein in the style of Louis Boudreault. I learned it off Grey Larsen and Andre Marchand's new recording "Les Marionnettes." Although the music fits into the standard 32-bar form, the 2nd part has accents in strange places, suggesting typical Quebec crookedness. The first two measures should really be in phrases of 6 eighth notes:
| dB~B2 dB | cA~A2 cA | . . .
amazingly the time works itself back out by the end. Grey plays a whistle part with many of the ornaments as tongued triplets in an attempt to mimic the Boudreault style. I'm still partial to Irish style rolls.
