in response to recent requests for a)flatpicking tunes and b)original tunes, here's a thing I play what I made up. With any luck the title will become dated, a footnoted tune with all sorts of apocryphal explanations as our current regime fades into the dim reaches of obscurity.
It does a bit of a leap into the major in the second part - don't sprain anything. The B flats are intentional, as is the B natural on the way down at the end. I like to follow out of it with Sporting Paddy (another mean flatpicking tune) or Last Night's Fun.
If you don't like the political connotations of the title, call it something else - perhaps John's Favorite Curry or something, I don't mind.
Enjoy.

Ornamentation
The only ornamentation that I really use on guitar are picked triplets, which would go in as follows. Left them out for clarity on the posted version. There are lots of ways to vary the A part, most of which I think are obvious.

Interesting name, and a nice tune! I like the way it can't seem to decide whether to be major or minor, so it just does both without sounding odd.

F nats
What a neat tune - and due to my incompetent site reading skills, I accidentily played this one with all F naturals - I think I like it better that way. Amazing how one little half step can change the whole thing =)
Thanks for the tune!

Ummm...
nice name, not the greatest tune in my opinion. kind of like what a written-out horrible jazz improv is to jazz and this written-out tune is to trad music... in other words, it just seems like you're uncreatively creating random notes in the d-minor scale and then the major scale like an unexperienced jazz musician would do. nice name though...
