Helvic Head
This one came from the Willie Clancy Week, a flute class several years ago by Seamus McMahon, who went on to record it with "Fisherstreet". He only taught 4 parts in the class, but by the time "Fisherstreet" was recorded, he'd found a 5th part. Surprised it isn't heard more. As good a jig as I've ever heard.

We play this tune often here in SF Kenny. Dale, Junji and I recorded it as well -- great jig indeed.

Helvic Head
This is one of the old ones.
There is a 3 part slip jig in O'Neil's Waifs and Strays of Gaelic Melody that is essentially three of the five parts of Helvic Head.
It is called Yellow Stockings, and noted as from O'Farrell's National Irish Music, 1797
Helvic Head is fully written out in Waifs and Strays as Melvin Head and noted as from Serg't Jas. O'Neill Mss.
We like to play it in Toronto too when we can remember how it goes, and I suspect it came from Jack via Karen Light

Helvic Head
'It is called Yellow Stockings, and noted as from O'Farrell's National Irish Music, 1797'
It's in O'Farrell's Pocket Companion (Vol 1) as Helvic Head, in all its glory (5 parts), but with some slight differences.
It's also in Walsh's collection of pipe friendly tunes.
