i play the second measure of t hat |ecA efa| , which is what my grandma taught me. the rest of its the same except for every time that second measure pops up in the tune.

Utterly classic in the New England contra repertoire, Tobin's was among the first three or four jigs I learned when I started back in the seventies. Among the people I learned it from, the third measure of the A part was always played with two exaggerated double-stops:
