This tune is 13 hours old...
I wrote this last night at a sessiun, inspired by a very nice and very original man from Colorado. Its your usual amalgam of every other Irish jig in G, but it has a nice lilt to it - let me know what you think. It could very well be a rip off, but I'll be bold and assume I wrote it.. for now!
Cheers!

And who might that original man been? I shall have to learn it and play it at him... ;)

Hi Zina, Bob is indeed a gentleman and a colorful personality. I can't remember his last name now, but I think he said he was from Colorado Springs, and is a computer security systems expert (he was here in Philly leading a symposium). Said something about playing sessions on Thursday nights and Sunday afternoons, maybe? He plays bodhran and bones. Truly a character worthy of a tune named in his honor.
And a very nice tune 'tis, I must say...

Ah ha. In that case, I'll have to teach the tune to one of the Colorado Springs folks so *they* can play it at him -- Eric Olson, maybe.

Is it improper to respond to comments about oneself? Please forgive me for any breach of ettiquite? I'm extremely flattered by the fame (or maybe, infamy?)!
The Colorado Springs sessions I mentioned are listed someplace on TheSession. We try to run open, welcoming sessions, which is why I was so pleased to find the Tuesday session. I have to admit that I've been to some that are pretty cold, but it was an honour to join this one. They even let in a drummer!
Helen, my wife, is a whistle player, so she picked the tune up right away, working around the notes below "D". We're going to introduce the tune to our Sunday session at Jack Quinn's tomorrow, as well as our session at Poor Richard's (15th anniversary, soon) on Thursday. If that sounds like a plug, please consider it an invitation. Especially you, Zina!
