Split Rock
Great tune composed by fiddle-legend Kevin Burke. I've transcribed it from the Lúnasa Album "The Kinnitty Sessions".
You can also hear it on Kevin Burke's Open House Album " Hoof and Mouth"

Split Rock
Kevin Burke plays it in Bm - that is to say up a tone from the version you have sent, where the tonic is actually A. It's a brilliant tune and worth hearing played by the man himself on Hoof and Mouth.
He has the following to say about in the notes on that album:"The Split Rock is situated outside Dromore West, County Sligo, on the Easky Road. If you walk through it three times it will close on you (or so the story goes!)."
Dromore West is the village Kevin's father came from, and where they went during the holidays - so a significant landmark in more ways than one, I suppose.
