Third Part is from "Kitty O'Neil's"
Padraig O'Keeffe added third part to "The Smoky Chimney," but he lifted from an old American "sand dance" called after the dancer Kitty O'Neil. O'Keeffe may have gotten it out of one of the several tune books that included the old two-part version of Kitty's tune, which was later expanded into the seven-part "Kitty O'Neil's Champion Jig" (aka "Kitty O'Shea").
