Australian Waters
I learned this off the playing of Paddy Glackin from his Reprise cd. This track was featured on this week's Culán show on BBC radio. Glackin pairs it with the Wedding Jig, which is already in the data base here: http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display.php/1235
I like the flux between c sharps and naturals, and the leaps up to the "gfe" phrase. Gives the tune great lift and life. Beyond that, I haven't been able to find any info online about the tune. Anyone know who composed it and when?

This sounds a lot like Vincent Campbell's jig...

Sure - same tune. So what's your source for calling it Vincent Campbell's? I've come across this tune only as Australian Waters, as recorded by Paddy Glackin, Tommy Peoples, and Altan.

Cherish the Ladies recorded it as Vincent Campbell's on "Threads of Time."

Cool. I'll add Mr. Campbell's moniker as an alternate title. Thanks. Do the liner notes from CTL say if Campbell wrote the tune?

Also played by Sean Og Potts on the Drones and Chanters Vol. 2.

Will- Sorry for the late response. The CTL liner notes don't specify a composer.
