I heard this tune played at a lovely session in paris last Tuesday, gig session at Connoly's Corner (1 rue Mirbel) ... beautifully played by Céline (violon), Baptiste (flute) et Philippe Hunsinger.
Just have to practise
so I can play this also at full speed!!!

Paris ...
hey lieve, i'v been listening to the tape ...
the tune there is played quite differently: both parts are repeated, and the second half of the A-part is identical to the first half.
i like sylvain's version better!
doesn't anyone else know this tune? under another name? or add something about it? how you play it (parts repeated or not)

Angelina Carberry recorded a very different version of this tune as Finbarr Dwyer's: http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/5623

Paddy Taylor's
I think this is a Paddy Taylor composition. I also think "Reenan's" is a mistake. I first heard this played on Paddy KEENAN's solo LP, if I remember correctly, by his brother Thomas, on whistle, but I'd have to check that.

Almost
Paddy Keenan plays this as the 1st reel on Track 12 of his 1st solo recording. Tune titles got mixed up.
[ Not played by Thomas - he plays the "Swallow-Tail". ]

Paddy Taylor's Reel: on the concertina and the fiddle
If you are looking for nice recordings of this lesser-known tune, be sure to check these:
Mairead Hurley of Ballymote on the concertina:
http://www.rte.ie/radio1/thebloomofyouth/rams/2007/4august.smil (the set starting around 53:00)
From The Bloom of Youth 2007: http://www.rte.ie/radio1/thebloomofyouth
Mairead's uncle, Des Hurley on the fiddle:
http://www.travellersinleeds.co.uk/travellers/downloads/PointerSession/PointerSession11.mp3
From A Session with the Travelling Pipers in Leeds:
http://www.travellersinleeds.co.uk/_travellers/JohnRooneyRecording.html
The tune comes at the end of both recordings, so be patient.
