Trip to Bantry

This tune was composed by Paddy O'Brien whilst driving to a gig in Bantry House.

Here's a slightly different version from the playing of Kevin Rowsome (Leo's grandson and 1996 Oireachtas winner). He follows this with another Paddy O'Brien tune, a three-part jig, the Coming of Spring (which is also now in the database here).

Trip To Bantry

Just learnt this from a friend the other day and checked it against the version in POB's book after looking it up on the net and discovering it was one of his compositions. Turns out Will's transcription is most like the original, although I notice the part endings of the original are uniformly |dge dBG|EAA A2... and go up to that top G.

I was wondering why I managed to pick it up on the fly quite quickly but then I realised it was b/c the A-part's very much like Sliabh Russell.
