Origin
I love this jig---it was written by Maurice Lennon of Stockton's Wing. He plays it in a set that starts with the jig Rose in the Heather. He also composed the beautiful slow air "If Ever You Were Mine" Great fiddler!

Elora Set
I first heard this tune about a week ago at a session in Elora, Ontario. There, the players usually put it together in a set with John Whelan's "The Trip to Skye" and a untitled Breton "An Dro". A very dark, compelling set....especially played on Scottish small pipes.

Maybe I don't have enough info on this, but ....
This jig appears on the Stockton Wing's recording, "The Crooked Rose," where it is part of a set of jigs called "Aaron's Key" (The Rose in the Heather/Aaron's Key/O'Dea's).
According to the liner notes (found here - http://www.taramusic.com/sleevenotes/cd3028.htm), it was written by flute/whistle player Paul Roche, not Maurice Lennon.
The third tune, "O'Dea's" was co-composed by Paul Roche and Maurice Lennon.
