Siney Crotty's

Charming in it's simplicity. More later.

Delightful -

At what speed do you play this? And - are you sure this is in G? It seems almost modal or modal minor. It is a beauty though, whatever key its in.

Siney Crotty's

First heard on Cathal McConnell's first solo recording, but I didn't
really take a liking to it until I heard Gary Hastings & Gerry O'Donnell playing it on the same tape which I got the"Cocktail" and the "Houseboat" from. ( See earlier postings).Siney Crotty is/was ? a singer from Co. Clare, and Cathal learnt this tune from Siney lilting it to him. It therefore probably has an older name, but in true traditional style, Cathal named it after the man who gave him the tune.
It's not a tune to race away with, at all. Sounded OK played back in G using abc2.
