From John Doyle record
I first heard this tune on a recording by John Doyle and picked it for whistle practice.
The record is called "Evening comes early".

This is a tune from East Mayo. it was collected by Joe Byrne of Aghamore, a village beside Cuigiu, and he included in a collection by Ceolaras Coleman in Gurteen called the Mountain Road. To the best of my knowledge it was composed by a woman called Mary Kate Mulkeen but I will clarify this as soon as i get a chance. Cuigiu is in the parish of Knock.
I have a slightly different version of this tunes which I will post here soon. have never heard it playewd outside of the East Mayo area. Lovely to see it up here!

I just learned it from a book / CD of June McCormack's- Fliuit. Her version is somewhat differen, much more flute friendly as you'd expect.
