Collier's Reel
I heard Eoin O'Riabhaigh play this one at the 2003 Tionol in Chapel Hill. Michael Vignoles also plays this one. A great tune!

Colliers'
This is a sweet little tune. I was listening to Tommy Peoples' setting of it on "Waiting for a Call" this morning. Sounds to me like he is playing it down a 5th (Gmix). Really changes the feeling. I love it.

Colliers
I love Tommy Peoples version too. However the tune as hear it has a second part to the second part which is not notated anywher I can find.
Can somebody give me the full setting, please!!!

Colliers
I have found the full version in Tommy Peoples 50 Irish fiddle tunes in the key of Gmix but it's still not quite as I hear it in he second part. I know Tommy has his unique phrasing but would be nice to get near it. My ear is not as good as I would like and therefore have to rely on written music to fill the blanks in. Ah well, maybe next lifetime!!

They have a couple of bars similar in the B-part, but how did you find out they were related to each other?
# Posted on July 5th 2007 by Dow
I think the relation between the two reels is a broad fact, which has already been pointed out by someone else. They share *basically* the same B-part. The thing is, the version Gian Marco transcribed isn't very standard.
Dow, I know you will never agree with me on this, so let's not talk about it any more. It actually doesn't matter whether they are related or not, simply because they aren't the same tune.

Why She Couldn't drink her Tea
There was an old song with this title which John Griffin recorded and he played this reel and sang the song to the tune of the Collier's reel.
