A transcription, more or less, from O'Neill's 1850.

Often played as a straight jig rather than a march (where the accents are slightly different).

Allistrum's March

I know this tune from Niall & Cillian Vallely 's duet album "Callan Bridge." I suspect this primitive pipe tune developed into "The Rolling Waves" and "The Boys of Coomanore."

Yet another tune from Callan Bridge by Niall & Cillian Vallely. This is the first in the set "Allistrum's March". The liner notes say it is part of a loner piece of music which describes the Battle of Cnoc na nDos in North Cork in the 17th century. Sounds about right to me.

Enjoy . . . I know I do!

Chieftain's Version - take 2

I went crazy trying to get this tune as the Chieftan's do it. This is closer - I believe.
