Something positive
I reckon the overall weight of opinion was against the begrudgers and cynics and in favour of the more open-minded and generous. So something positive probably came out of the thread anyway ... i.e. people, on the whole, indicated that the blinkered, reactionary, curmudgeonly and offensive views of some people who hang around the session's street-corners do not represent those of the Irish music community as a whole.
But it spawned a couple of tunes at least and that's proof positive, if proof were needed, of the futility of those latter-day Canutes who try to stem the tide ...
