The Banks Of The Allan
It's a lovely tune I've come across in a book, but never heard played. I'm surprised it's not a popular session tune.

It's pretty widely played in Scotland. I think its a Perthshire tune.

Composer?
I was intrigued to see the fiddler Gerry Harrington claim to have written this tune in the sleeve notes of their excellent album "The Smoky Chimney"

Banks of the Allan
There is a River Allan near to where I live in Perthshire. There's also a pub called The Allanbank, at which there used to be a regular session. However, if I'm not mistaken, there are a few River Allans around!
