The Branle
The Branle actually is not a reel, though it can be played as one. Branle is a type of dance/tune, but I guess it's not an option for submitting tunes yet ;)
This is actually a combination of the two Scottish Branles, which is what you hear on 'The World's Room' by ODB, after 'Aird Ranters' (Strathspey) However, the OBD play it a step up from this version. (Starting on A, I'm not sure what key that would be... I sstink with keys and chords, even though I do play some mandolin backup)

The Scottish Branle is a very popular traditional dance in certain parts of France, though originally it has been danced just by the aristocracy...
you can find it in the renaissance dance collection by Thoinot Arbeau, published in France in 1589. He called it "Orchésographie".

French variation
In France, the A part is repeated. Also note the "AG" rather than "A2" in the second part.
You can play this with irregular strathspey-style quavers, with the first one shorter.
Anyway, I love this tune!
