How,what,who where...?
hi,jocklet - you've posted one of my favourite jigs but i was wondering where you picked it up from or first came across it.
i know it from the frankie kennedy mairead ní mhaonaigh 'ceol aduaidh' album where they play it in D.
i played this at the porterhouse session a couple of weeks back and conán said he had last heard it when he was a bit younger but had n't encountered it since.to spare any blushes he might have, i won't say how long ago that was!
is it played in your local sessions much?
i notice that the setting here is slightly different (bar 4 and the last bar of the parts)
i know it's a simple tune but i really get a good kick from this.and some people would say that's exactly what i deserve...
best wishes

An Fathach Tireannach
I learned this tune about fifteen years ago .I recorded it in a session in Antwerp, other than that I don't know much about it,and I've never heard it in a session since then.It is a simple tune, but memorable all the same. Jocklet

A nice example of how a good tune can arise out of basically four notes (A-D), with brief excursions to high and low Es.
