Farewell to the Troubles of the World
I picked this tune up at a session in Oregon many years ago, and then lost it. Luckily I kept the dots around and recently reconstructed it.
I like it not too fast, to savor the flux between c sharps and naturals.

Great tune, Will.
There are other possibilities for the C / Csharp.
I think it's an old pipe tune in Dmix with some modern Dmaj add-ons.
Nice variation is to play F nat instaed of E in the first triplet in bar 7 / 15

This is in O'Neill's, but does anyone know of any recordings with it on? It seems like a neglected tune.

I have the dots. Does anyone know of a recording?
Tonight my friend put 3 tunes in front of me. One of them I know, another I have heard.
The 3rd tune I have not heard in session. Will Harmon posted the tune on site.
There are no known recordings. Would be nice to hear it played by someone who knows the tune.
" Farewell to the Troubles of the World " aka " O'Connell's Welcome to Parliament "
Actually I lied. I don't have the dots. I would like to hear it before I try to suss it out.
Thanks in advance.

Farewell to the Troubles of the World
Close but no cigar. Still no recording of this tune. Thanks leoj for the mp3.
Fiddlers' Companion listed an alternate title for this tune;
http://www.ibiblio.org/fiddlers/FAR_FARE.htm#FAREWELL_TO_THE_TROUBLES_OF_THE_WORLD
"Farewell . . . " (Slan agus Beannacht le Buaidhreamh an tSaoghail). AKA . . . "O'Connell's Welcome {to Parilament}.
There is a completely different jig with the same title (or alternate title)
