Maloney's Wife
My buddy found this tune years ago & always plays it when I'm around. I just din't hear it often enough to learn it, he'd always say, "C'mon man, it's got your name in the title" so 3 years or so I just got around to learning it. though you guys might be interested. I don't know anything on the history or origins of the tune, it's simple, solid & fun to play.

Maloney's Wife
I have this tune. After I found the title, I looked it up and found in Andy Kuntz's Fiddler's Companion that:
it is from the manuscript collection of retired businessman and Irish music enthusiast John Gillan, collected from musicians in his home county of Longford and the adjoining Leitrim [O'Neill].
Its printed in O'Neill's; Flaherty (Trip to Sligo); Taylor (Through the Half-Door). It was recorded by Shaskeen.
Also it has been played by Mike Rafferty; Mike McHale; flute player and piper John Ennis, originally from County Kildare [O'Neill].

A very similar version of the tune with a different 3rd part is listed as "McCormack's" in the Hidden Fermanagh book on page 78. Fluter Eddie Duffy is cited as the source. Jim McGrath and Seamus Quinn recorded the 2-part version together on Hidden Fermanagh CD vol.2.
