Dennis Liddy
Dennis Liddy came over to my house sometime last year to buy a fiddle from me and he played this tune. I since learned the tune from Michael Harty the flute player but this setting may not be Dennis's as I have not heard his recording of it on Waifs and strays. Must get a copy.
Good Luck

Jimmy Noonan does a great job with this tune on his Maple Leaf CD. I slowed it down on the computer and learned it this weekend. It's a fun tune for the flute. I'm happy to see it posted this morning....

Billy Brockers
A year has passed since I heard Dennis play this tune, and as I said this setting comes from Micheal Harty who got it from Paddy O'Brien from Co Tipperary. Tunes change with time Tanya, who knows exactly how this one started out.
Good Luck

Just learned this...
What a satisfying tune to play. Good one to practice the short rolls on too.

I enjoyed that clip. He's got a really nice tone when he hits that bottom D, and some lovely variations. And look at how old they are -- makes you sick doesn't it!
