Tickle her leg with the barley straw
Great banjo tune, taken from Sharon Shannon's Spellbound album, goes well with Bundle and Go.

Music in boston?
i am going to Boston soon .Are there any good session pubs in Boston?
Also do they like people joining in?

Is a bear Polish? Does the Pope **** in the woods? Do a search in the Sessions section, Jim, you'll find plenty. As for joining in, read the comments carefully, it'll depend on how good *you* are and which session you choose to try to join.

P.S.
And what does that have to do with Tickle Her Leg, exactly? ;)

Stupid request
You might have noticed that I posted a request for 'Jeruselem' okay how stupid do i feel!? Not only did I spell it wrong, I was looking for Jerusalem Ridge in a hurry and never meant to post any request at all...now I can't get rid of it. So I'm not looking for a hymn but I am going to give up traditional music out of shame....

Skippy, don't take it to heart! The spelling mistakes (usually typos) on this site would keep a dictionary maker happy (or miserable) for years. Anyway, Jerusalem Ridge has already been submitted, and perhaps some kind person might write a tune called "Jeruselem" - what do you want, reel, jig, hornpipe, etc
?

Great transcription
That's a really good transcription of the tune as Sharon Shannon plays it, by the way. Simple things done well!

Some little variants
I was just trying it out on the B/C accordion and discovered a couple of little variations you can use. There are a bunch of places where it goes EDE or F#EF#. Raising the middle note a half step to ED#E or F#FF# once in a while is nice. I imagine that on a fiddle, using a neutral tone somewhere between D and D# or between E and F would work, too. And the only G in the whole tune also seems to work as a G#.

Who else?
This is one of my favourite jigs - the first one I learnt well enough to play through coherently...
I learned it from Brendan Power and his album "New Irish Harmonica" - I was most surprised (forgive my ignorance, please) to come across it on one of SS's albums. I like the way both of them play it and I'm going to incorporate some of the fun variations she uses.
