This lovely march is a composition by Cape Breton fiddler Mike MacDougall. It's popular in Edinburgh areas.
I've been enjoying this simple tune on my new wooden flute, but it will be nice on guitar and banjo, too. It goes well with modern Breton hornpipe The Last Pint (G).

We play this as a Schottische rather than as a hornpipe.We use it lots for the Canadian Barn Dance. Its good to discover that the tune is Canadian too. We pair it with Sidlaw Hills.
What is so clever about it is its simplicity,only the first bar is different between the a and b parts.
