Hen's march?

Something wrong here. This is only the last part of Donald McLeod's 4-part jig - what happened to the first three parts?

Hens March

A disappointment to all Swarbrick and High LevelRanters fan's here, this is not the Hen's March from the Northumbrian Minstrelsy.

Hen's march

But if you want to refer back to a tune, including all the 4 parts in the comments, it's still handy to have it bookmarked in your tunebook. (It took me a while to learn that the comments section for a tune is the place to go to rather than a quick grab at the ABC).

Hey spin, I'm still trying to get Kenny to submit the 'whole' tune... Someone's gotta...

# Posted on January 30th 2008 by ceolachan

Look above

Did that in 2003.

No, I know that, I've been here repeatedly, I mean on it's own and not back here in the comments of this ~ ... A transcription by someone with respect for the thing, and someone who has more of a hand on it than I do, or I would. I haven't played this r learned it from a source. Musn't get rude... ;-) So, am I going to have to go out and find a source to learn it from and then transcribe it and add it in 'it's own right'? :-/ You do ask a lot...

Huh ?

You've lost me , "c". If you want a good version, I recommend either Iain McInnes or "Dagger" Gordon, although the latter's recordings may not be that easy to find.
By the way, I found where this "1 part version"came from a couple of years ago. I reckon it was cut-and-pasted by "Teslapiper" from another website and posted here. He or she has never commented on the tune's origins. I asked the other website host to change it - he said he would but hadn't the last time I looked, - can't even remember which site it was, but it doesn't matter. Unless of course, some schmuck took it from here and passed it onto the other site ! Disgraceful way to treat a tune. If anything on this site deserves to be deleted, it's this.

You I trust, that's why I was hoping you'd actually post the full tune as a transcription seperate from this limb missing a body ~ that you'd be better equipped than me to show that respect for its orgins. It's not a tune I've played and I've no recording to draw a transcription from. That's why I was emailing you. This transcript is daft!!! Maybe Jeremy would agree to axe it in exchange for the complete transcription taking its place. I can but wish... Your last two sentences are where I go when seeing the likes of this... :-/

I did do a search for a recording to transcribe, but I've nothing and I only found it listed on some bagpipe recordings, but no guarantee that it is this tune, Donald McLeod's...

I like marches, but this isn't one I'm familiar with...
