Keegan herself calls this tune "The Curlews" and, if memory serves me right (I'll check when I get the chance) it's named not after the bird but the Curlew Hills. (There is also a trad hornpipe/barndance called The Curlew Hills and also goes by the name of The Glenbeigh Hornpipe.)

Curlew
"The Curlew" which has been recorded by Alastair Fraser & Tony McManus - and many other Scottish musicians - is not this tune, but a four-part pipe jig by Donald McPherson.

"The Curlews" ~ Josephine Keegan
From a transcript of her tunes sent to me, packed tight, scrawled above this tune:
"Title refers to the mountains in Leitrim / Boyle Way."
The transcript for "The Curlews" is identical to that Zina has given above...

The Curlew-6/8??
On the Silly Wizard albums, the tune paired with, "The Parish of Dunkeld" is titled, "The Curlew", however, it is a 6/8 jig in a Major key, not Josephine Keegan's Bm reel with the same name.
According to the liner notes, it is popular with Scottish ceilidhs.
