The Iron Man (strathspey)

I was taught this tune yesterday by my teacher in honour of Burns Night today, when she and her band are due to play it and many more Scottish and Donegal tunes at a ceili.
She called it The Shetland Fiddler.

The question came up on another list I belong to as to whether the Iron Man would be an inveterate drinker of Irn Bru? :-D
Seriously, though, does anyone know the source of the name? I'm wondering if it had to do with the strong-man craze of the 1890s.

The Iron Man

I believe that J.Scott Skinner wrote this tune to honor his benefactor, a man who was an iron magnate.
