Kay Girroir

This is third in a set following the old reel and a different version of drowsy maggie (posted in comments section) from the patrick street - "street life" album. I think it should be in Bdor?? Anyway, its a good tune, with lots of slide potential and a great change in the second part, especially with the G natural.

I never heard this tune. Seems to be a good tune.

Source of tune

"Kay Girroir" was written by Joey Beaton, of Mabou, Cape Breton and appears in Jerry Holland, The Second Collection, Cranford Publications. If I'm not mistaken, Beaton is Natalie MacMaster's uncle (brother of Natalie's mom).

Cheers for that Gary!

Similarities with Duncan Johnstone?

The first two bars of the second part are pretty much identical to the first two bars of the second part of Duncan Johnstone just recently posted. Perhaps Joey was influenced by this piece?
