Key To The Convent ?
A request, if it's the same tune. The net is too busy at the moment - I'll comment tomorrow.

thanks Kennny, yes that's the one i was looking for.
In fact the title is The Key of the Convent. It is on Dervish "Boys of Sligo".

Tommy Peoples / Key
I got this tune years ago from Desi Wilkinson. He called it "Tommy Peoples' " jig, but that's maybe just because it was learned from him. I haven't posted it with that name otherwise it'll turn up in about a dozen recordings when it 's a different tune altogether. Recorded also by that fine Belfast band "Craobh Rua".

Keys to the Convent
This jig is also one of four tunes with the title "King of the Pipers." An excellent fiddle version (by Gerry O'Connor) can be heard on the album "Bridhid's Kiss" by fiddler Gerry O'Connor & fluter/vocalist Eithne Ní Uallacháin. Also found (as "King of the Pipers") on the album "Ceol ar an bhFidil le Paddy Glackin" and on the album "The Boys of Sligo" by the band Dervish.

This is not the same King of Pipers that appears on the Altan albums. That version used to be posted here but no longer appears to be. I prefer that tune to this one.
