Bill Malley's
Bill Malley's goes with the Kilnamona Barndance, as played by Martin Hayes on the first track on Under the Moon. These barndances go stately, not too fast, not as robust as Donegal barndances (a la Altan). This set quickly became a favorite at our local session and audiences really respond well to it, too, especially as a relief from the usual onslaught of fast jigs and reels.

Martin Hayes
Martin Hayes definetly has a great touch with these barndances (+ Kilnamona) plays them very well together, Great start to the CD - under the moon.

Bill Malley's Schottische -
"Traditional Music for the Scottish Fiddle"
including new tunes by Brian McNeill, former fiddler with the Battlefield Band.
Is this one of his tunes?
This melody has the structure and feel of a march, whatever speed, and nice as a slow march, rather than a barndance... However, with the 'skip' thrown in and a little bit more on the tempo - so it is danceable, OK, but not the way Hayes belabours it, roll the casket along.
