Drone those Ds

This one is fun is to play at a fast, even sloppy, pace. I like to drone open Ds as often as possible - basically anywhere where an F,A or D is played - it almost makes it sound like a swedish polska.

This tune sounds like a variant of the Scots jig and song air, "The Muckin' o' Geordie's Byre".

Seamus Ennis calls this tune The Dark Girl in Blue in his tutor for the uilleann pipes. It seems that maybe this is more accurate the "Denis Murphy's" because it was from Denis Murphy that Ennis learned the tune.

The Gleanntan Slide

Tony MacMahon has recorded this tune on his LP "Tony MacMahon" (1972) he puts it as second with "Merrily Kissed the Quaker" On this LP it is refered to as "The Gleanntan Slide" Can anyone offer reasons why it is so named? Does anyone else call it that?
