This is a composition of the great Leitrim fiddler, Charlie Lennon. I first learnt it a banjo workshop at the South Sligo Summer School, Tubbercurry, last year. It aperas on Charlie Lennon's own recording, "Musical Memories, Vol. I".

Kings Of Inishbofin
Lovely jig. First heard it recorded by Vinnie Kilduff. along wth another Charlie composition, "The Queen Of Mayo". Neither of these two jigs seem to have entered the tradition as easily as some of Charlie's other tunes - a great pity, as these are as good as any of his compositions.

Wrong title
“spoon” – whoever gave you this tune at Tubercurry got the titles of the 2 Charlie Lennon tunes recorded by Vinnie Kilduff mixed up. This isn’t “The Kings Of Inishbofin” – it’s the 2nd of the 2 jigs, “The Queen Of Mayo”. In the interests of accuracy, you might like to change the title, and I’ll post “The Kings Of Inishbofin” in the next few days.
