Hughie Travers

Comments from Peter Laban regarding the origin of the pair of Hughie Travers tunes which came from Kitty Hayes and her late husband can be found on the concertinanet tuneatron under "user added comments"

Kitty Hayes

Peter Labans comment on Kitty has been added onto Hughie Travers' Reel. Her cd is worth listening to for the "old fashioned" 20 key anglo concertina style.

Jig into Reel

Whenever followed by the reel setting of the tune, bars 1-8 are simply repeated in the second part.

Hughie Traver's

Great to know the origin of this tune. Learned it last month in a workshop, where the teacher hadn't a clue about the name. Since one of the participants did some spectacular exercises with her toes, trying to cover the flute's holes we finally called it "Big Toe's Fancy". Great tune anyway and great craic!
