i heard this tune a long time ago on Dave Swarbrick's very first instrumental record called "Reels rags and airs", a pure gem and a mine for good tunes. Unfortunately, i don't think it still can be found.
And of course, it is the first tune in the Dirty Linen Medley played by Fairport Convention.
Sometimes it is also called Last Night's fun, there is a different version in O'Neill's book.

Rags, Reels & Airs
Paul-leray - unless I imagined it, I'm sure this LP was released on CD either last year or the year before, and should still be available. The LP is a bit of a collector's item these days, and a copy in good condition used to sell for about £40 - 50 a few years back.

Modes
Paul, thanks for a fine tune--not one I've heard before, but definitely a keeper!

Thanks for the title, Paul. I posted a different setting, in E-dorian, some time ago:
http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display.php/425
My setting comes from an early album of Capercaillie, 'The Little Cascade', but I have a suspicion that i may have transposed it from the original key.
