Sorry, not trad - written by me...

The title wouldn't be an Aussie off-color double entendre now, would it?
:o)

The lobster was me

Sorry to disappoint, but actually no. I wrote this tune recently when I went down to the south coast of New South Wales to stay at a friend's place. The weather was blazing hot every day and it was the middle of the Australian summer.`I was already browner than usual (read "egg shell white as opposed to my usual bluish hue") so I thought "I don't need sunblock I'm not going to be very long on the beach, I'll be fine". Needless to say I was punished severely for my stupidity. I looked like a typical Pom on holiday - a ridiculous bright pink colour turning painfully to lobster red. This tune is dedicated to anyone who has suffered bad sunburn. There's nothing worse than feeling like you're on fire, not being able to sleep or shower... I wrote this tune whilst resting indoors to try and take my mind off the pain. Apart from that, the holiday was fantastic. Of course afterwards I peeled bigtime and ended up whiter than when I'd arrived. I've learnt how to be careful the hard way, and now I've gone completely the other way - I do things like obsessively applying sunblock before I go outside to hang the washing out - maybe that's taking it a bit too far :-)

This is indeed a very nice jig. Well composed.
