Liscannor -- at Joseph Mchugh's Pub
I've known Billy McComisky for about twenty years. We have the same home town. I finally learned this tune a couple of weeks ago. I'd always loved it but thought it very difficult. When I finally learned it, it turned out to be lovely and easy. I'd never even heard it in a session. A week or so ago Frankie McEnnis, a banjo player living in Liscannor, asked me if by any chance I knew Flowers of Brooklyn. I turned to him in amazement and told him I in fact did know it, having just learned it. He pulled a whistle from his inside jacket pocket and we played it with each other. It was the first time either of us had played the tune with somebody else.
