Farewell to Glasgow
I learned this slow air/waltz by myself immediately after picking up the instrument, but it's still the most beautiful and impressive tune I've ever played. The funny thing is no Scottish musicians know this tune.
This version is a mixture of the one available at sessioneer.com and the one played by John Williams and Seamus Egan in "When Juniper Sleeps."
Please add some info about the tune, especially its origin.

Omigosh this is beautiful!!! And I can't recall ever hearing it before. THANK YOU for posting it! It just falls into place on whistle or flute, and I can't wait to try it out on fiddle. Tunes like this make me really glad that the posting of airs is "tolerated" on this site. Well done, H.!

The Boys of The Lough do a nice version of this on Live at Carnegie Hall. Worth a listen.
