This is the third tune posted here by the name of The Gold Ring (perhaps we should aim to have five by the 28th December). It is a close cousin of, but a distinct tune from one of the other two: http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display.php/37.

This setting comes from the Boys of the Lough's second album. It is not as well known as either of the other two Gold Rings posted here - I don't recall hearing it played in a session yet - but it deserves an airing, and is different enough, I think, from its cousin not to get the two tunes mixed up.

The following setting, with F-naturals in the 3rd part, a somewhat different 5th part and additional 6th and 7th parts, appears in O'Neill's 1001:
