Yes, I composed this tune and it is meant to be sad and yearning
as it is about a real parting of company. Angela from Aran Island Co. Donegal was a most convivial host and manager down our pub. She had to leave to take up another post and I wrote the tune the very night she left. The slight highlandish feel is deliberate.

"Highland" feel
I see what you mean about the highlandish feel - those triplets give the tune a nice "Scottish snap".
