Is that a transcription of the Glasgow City Police Pipe Band version or is it your own?

# Posted on August 7th 2006 by Dow

The transcription in G Major above isn't from the band's playing. It is just from memory and notes... We would have played it for dancers and dancing...

Right. So. Source = c's own memory. But can it be trusted, I wonder. Do you even trust it yourself, 'c'? What time did you put that chicken in the oven? Just think, someone will stumble upon your post in 200 years' time, and they'll go: 'I like it in G... oo, maybe I'll learn it off this abc. But who the hell is this "ceolachan"? And why are his abc headers so minimalist? No title header, no metre, no note length? He must have been a real lazy so-and-so...' ;-)

Using the versions above as an aid to memory, I have come up with this which I think must be close to the GCPPB recording.

Thanks Longnote ~ at least another take in G, and equally minimalist to mine... I think it is way over time your trading in that blanket, those stains, well, I'd hate to see the results of a full investigation and analysis... :-/

The 'analysis' mentioned above with regards to NB and the suspected source of the nickname... Yuck! I picture something that would stick if you threw it up against a wall...

'noxious blanket'

Note, for clarity, at the time of the above 'Dow' was calling himself by the alternate name of 'noxious blanket'... :-/
