John Kirkpatrick / Sue Harris recording

English melodeon player John Kirkpatrick and hammered dulcimer player Sue Harris have this tune under the name "Crocker's reel" on their recording "Facing the Music" (1980). It also appears on "A short history of John Kirkpatrick" (1994).

The liner notes say: "Crocker's Reel is given as a suggested tune for the dance 'Sackett's harbour' in Douglas Kennedy's Community dances, manual 4 (EFDSS 1954). The tune had previously appeared as 'Alley Crocker' in Kerr's First Collection of Merry Melodies, a curiously undated work with a huge selection of rattling good tunes."

Lovely recording by the way. Kirkpatrick/Harris play a similar version as the one given by Trevor, but without the repeats and with no g# in part 2. Most fascinating a very rare "pitch sliding technique" executed on the melodeon (!): obviously recording tape speed is used for tuning this reel up from initial Cmajor to Dmajor after 2 times through... fun!
